Dec 12, 2020 · I bought the Security 9 yesterday and have not fired it, cleaned it, oiled it, or anything. I have, however, run four magazines through and every round hangs up. First, all firearms need cleaned before you do anything with them! Then, if you have an issue, such as feeding ammo, I'd immediately stop and determine the cause of the problem. Hi all, New to this forum but hope I can get some feedback on a problem I'm having with my Security 9. Got this about 4 months ago and I really like the pistol. Probably put about 900 rounds thru it so far. Last time I was at the range everytime I inserted a full mag the slide went forward and the gun went into battery.

Failure to feed nose up happened about 10 times. I was using lawman 147 grain. I had to drop the mag to eject and chamber a new round.

I recently bought my wife a Ruger Security-9 for protection. When I first inspected it, I found it was really hard to get the slide stop to set, but was told it would loosen up with firing, and slingshot worked fine. After about 300 rounds, it's easier to set the slide stop. But the problem is the slide "locks out" on last round.
