This is a splurge vacation as you pay for the privilege to stay at Gibney Beach but it is well worth saving up for this dream vacation. I will return again someday.The Gibney family tried their best to get the land back, however, it ultimately was claimed by the Virgin Islands. The building has since been reconstructed due to damages from hurricanes and wind but the foundation and the location in which Robert Oppenheimer spent his last days are still on the shores …The Gibney family still owns the west end of the beach, the stone house is still there occupied by one of the daughters and her family.
