The Lectron has been around a long time but until recently the owner was into drag racing and so the carb performed very well in that venue. The carbs have been used by a few very high level off road guys in events such as the ISDE as far back as 20 years ago. They are $300 and available and very easy to tune and don't need fiddling.

Yes, it is a definite upgrade from a stock carb, both in top performance due to a larger, less restrictive bore (stock BSR CV is a 36mm, the Lectron can be a 39) and the Lectron is a flat slide carb. Just waiting on hand gaurds and my soupy's lowering links.The FCR carb will gladly provide 60mpg during easy highway cruising (50-60mph). Unloaded, WOT on the highway, I get 35mpg. Fully loaded with camping gear, WOT on the highway, I've gotten as low as 25mpg. The stock carb will jerk and cough when whacking the throttle open at high rpms. The throttle response just doesn't compare to the FCR.
Sep 27, 2020 · 2 strokes is what Lectron do best. Yes the YZ is the perfect bike for a Lectron to work well. DRZ's don't do so well with that type of carburetor. Not needed. Most people here that have tried the Lectron on a DRZ soon find the deficiencies and opt for the Keihen FCR carburetor that the performance version of the bike came with.
