Is mksap enough for abim.

ABIM in two weeks. I did MKSAP 17 twice (60% first time, 70% second time), MKSAP 18 (70%), and Awesome Board Review course 3 times. I am now running through UWorld (about 60% but only 13% of the questions done). I did terribly on my ITE's cuz I didn't prep at all for them (8%, 17% and then 6% as a third year).Question: I had attempted ABIM initial certification exam in 2018, and failed. At the time I had just completed IM residency and was entering HPM fellowship. I didn't really study, honestly. I had bought Uworld Qbank, MKSAP 18 (which came iwth board basics for MKSAP 18), and my residency gave us the MedStudy 16th edition books (core).Otherwise Uworld can be helpful, and I would consider the Board Basics book from MKSAP even if you’re not finding the qbank helpful. I did awesome review and I took the in-person course. It was helpful along with Board Basics and MKSAP. It is amazing that 100% of the exam is in board basics and MKSAP.ABIM strongly urges you to take the online tutorial before taking your exam. Becoming familiar with the exam will greatly improve your efficiency on exam day. Tutorials take about 30 minutes to complete and give you the opportunity to: View the exam interface. Practice using the exam features including notes, strikethrough, and highlight.I did not use Rosh Review to help study for the ABIM board exam, but I wish I did. To be honest, the ABIM exam is not especially difficult when compared to the gauntlet of USMLE or COMLEX exams a physician must take. MKSAP and adequate internal medicine training during residency are probably enough for most residents to pass the exam.

She passed . Sometimes it’s about the prep, sometimes it’s about the test taking skills but sometimes it’s just a bad day.

If you are someone who really absorbs content through reading and were looking forward to the MKSAP books, you might be a bit disappointed to know that, as of now, no book accompanies the UWorld ABIM Qbank. However, reading content does not fit everyone’s study style.

Otherwise Uworld can be helpful, and I would consider the Board Basics book from MKSAP even if you’re not finding the qbank helpful. I did awesome review and I took the in-person course.
