The new exotics from this season aren't dropping from Strike Force. Wouldn't be surprising if the activity's loot pool was not updated for the new season's exotics. It has a chance to give you lost sector exotics. It's not a guarantee. My experience from season 20 was that it's a new exotic every single time.The one yesterday evening I missed the notification and it had already been going for five minutes by the time I saw it. I loaded into a couple different instances but saw nothing, it was too late. It really rekindled my hatred of Vex Strike Force that had died down since Lightfall launch.
