Ok guys, I'm looking to do a mod to my Hawk Helium sticks. I'm debating between using an 8mm static rope or using the rope cam cleats, I really favor the latter even though it's more expensive. ... FYI - If you use a Harken 150 or Schaffer 70-17 you will need at least 2.25" hardware to mount through a Hawk Helium stick.

I just bought a set of these the other day. I've decided against doing a rope mod for now and sticking with the cam buckle straps. I cut pieces of bicycle inner tube and pulled over the metal buckles.
