Naples, fl. New member first post. I am looking at a new engine. LS swap is a very simple swap for me to do. My concerns is fuel economy. Most guys don't care but my commute is roughly 100 miles a day. What numbers are you getting at the pumps? I'd really like to run a 4.8 w the 4l60 for the cheapest scenario.
The oil pressure gauge and coolant temp will reuse the existing sensors/wiring you will just need adapters for the 6.0 threads/ports. Speedometer should be one wire output from the 6.0 ecm that connects to one wire from the DRAC box behind the glove box (may have to adjust output from the 6.0 ecm).1993 C1500 LS Swap. Black/white stripe is the ground, purple is the fuel sender wire to the guage, and the gray is the power supply. after tapping in my fuel pump relay to the gray wire, my guage didnt work. i snipped the black and white wire, and put a hoop connector on it, and grounded itnear one of the bolts for the pedal assembly. works fine now. hope that ...

And on coolant temp you can add a stock range sensor to pass side of ls or you can change the ls temp sensor for the f body 3 wire but it gauge is off 10ish degrees. April 2, 2023. If not then L96 + 6Lxx tranny, the L96 and 6l90 will probably take more work to integrate, so it'll be more expensive. The 6l90 (or 80) would just be awesome in a gmt400. As long as they're tuned well they're supposed to be stout. May 29, 2020. #9.I would just get a LS style 4L60E at a minimum. Personally I would ditch the 60E and get a 4L80E though. You could probably trade off the LS1 for an iron 6.0L too, which would work better for the swap. The truck accessories, intake and exhaust manifolds are an easier swap into a truck.
