I have similar issues with the factory touchscreen radio in my '09 Traverse 2LT. The fm reception in mine is horrendous. When driving, it sounds as if it's switching from fm stereo to fm mono. Sitting still it comes in fine. I removed the antenna base from the roof and removed the cover and it all looked OK in there.
